Description
In the 2026 Islamic Center of San Diego shooting, three people (an imam and two faculty members) were killed on the mosque's campus, which contained the Bright Horizon Academy, a K-12 grade school; no students were injured, although they were escorted out from the campus by authorities. The two gunmen, ages 17 and 18, who had no known affiliation with the school or mosque, committed joint suicide in a car adjacent to the mosque campus. Police found items alluding to Neo-Nazi symbolism in the vehicle owned by the shooters.
